You should be able to play this song in less than a week, if you can't, please play songs from level 3
CHORDS you have to know to play this song:
G - Em - Am - D7.
The best way to learn this song, or any other song, is to watch the video at least 10 times. Songs in level 4 are made specially to help you learn CHORDS. A chord is when you play 3 notes or more at the same time. In the guitar you put your fingers in a certain way and strum the strings, up or down to produce the sound. You learn the chords by learning the position you have to put your fingers in the guitar. Each chord has a different position.
Once you are familiar with the song, and how it sounds, then print the music score PDF below.
Now, with the actual music sheet on your hands, play the video a few more times and put your eyes on the paper, and read along with the music, listen to the song while looking at the music sheet. FIRST, see what chords you need to know to play this song.
THEN learn those chords one by one before playing the song. Make sure you can switch from one chord to the other easily.
Count the measures in the song, the same as you did it in level 2 and level 3. Some songs have chords and melody. Play the CHORDS ALL THE TIME. When the song has a melody, play the melody too. DO NOT PLAY MELODY AND CHORDS AT THE SAME TIME.
FIRST: Learn all the chords in the song and make sure you can switch from one chord to the other.
SECOND: Play the video and ALWAYS PLAY ALONG WITH THE VIDEO. It's the only way to create timing and feeling the music.
THIRD: Now you can play the melody of the song. Melodies for these songs are easy, because now you are in level 4. If you get into the habit to play along with the video all the time, it will be better.
Play only 2 or 3 measures or any part of the song for that day, think of it, as the complete song. Play it over and over and practice until you can play those few measures. If you get tire of practicing, take a break, and then come back to keep doing it.
Once you can play those measures without mistakes at least 5 to 10 times. Then relax, and the next day do the same, with the next few measures. If you practice like that, steady and constantly everyday, you will learn to play the song, and you will be able to play the guitar much better.
Level 4 is made for you to learn CHORDS. It's not that easy. F chord or Bm are difficult to play, but if you do it a lot you should be able to play that chord in less than a month.
STRUMMING RECOMMENDATIONS: Don't think to much how to strum a chord. For now just play it down or up. There are so many ways of strumming that it will be too much to learn everything right now. Little by little. You will learn to strum the chords better, when you can feel the music, and the only way to feel the music is over time. So, keep doing it.
