Pretty Woman

  • You should be able to play this song in less than a week, if you can't, please play songs from level 5

    • Melodies are longer, much longer, and specially timing is very important in this level, more important then ever, you should play more in time, if you can play along with the music is better. The teacher should put a lot of attention in timing, from now on, if you don't play in time, pretty close, you will not pass the song.

      • The best way to learn this song, or any other song, is to watch the video at least 10 times, or more. Songs in level 6 are made specially to help you learn longer melodies, bass lines, and more chords, specially bar chords, and use more of your memory. Some of the songs are in the bass line area, with more jumps and skips, others are in the higher register, for solos or complete melodies.

        • Once you are familiar with the song, and how it sounds, then print the music score PDF below. With the PDF in your hands, now listen to the music with the video, and follow the music in the PDF with your eyes, do this many times, at least 5 or 10.

          • Now, with the actual music sheet on your hands, play the video a few more times and put your eyes on the paper, and read along with the music, listen to the song while looking at the music sheet. I say this again because it's very important that you do this. Believe me, if you get the habit of doing it, in the long run you will learn music better.

            • TIMING is everything, read the music and respect the rests and the longer or shorter notes.

              • Count the measures in the song, the same as you did it in level 4 and level 5. Some songs have bass line and melody. Play the song IN TIME, ALL THE TIME.

                • Some songs have chords and melody, play the rhythm with the chords, without affecting the timing in the melody.

                  • Play the video and ALWAYS PLAY ALONG WITH THE VIDEO. It's the only way to create timing and feeling the music, in this level, more than ever, this is the most important thing.

                    • Now you can play the melody of the song. Melodies for these songs are longer and nicer, because now you are in level 6. If you get into the habit to play along with the video all the time, it will be better.

                      • VERY IMPORTANT! - Once you start to play the song, DO NOT GO BACK TO THE BEGINNING. Even if you make a mistake, keep playing, just correct the mistake for that measure, and keep playing, ALL THE WAY TO THE END OF THE SONG.

                        • Play only 2 or 3 measures or any part of the song for that day, think of it, as the complete song. Play it over and over and practice until you can play those few measures. If you get tire of practicing, take a break, and then come back to keep doing it.

                          • Once you can play those measures without mistakes at least 5 to 10 times. Then relax, and the next day do the same, with the next few measures. If you practice like that, steady and constantly everyday, you will learn to play the song, and you will be able to play the guitar much better. Now is time to use your memory more.

                            • Level 6 is made for you to learn MELODIES, and also to put more attention on timing. And of course you will keep learning more BAR CHORDS.

                              • STRUMMING RECOMMENDATIONS: For level 6 you can start learning to play more different strumming patterns, and some easy picking. Get all the chords you know, and play them using different strumming patterns.

                              • .
