BEAMED NOTES

In slurs example notice the beamed notes, there is one group of 2 eighth notes and one group of 4 eighth notes. Starting the eighth notes and the sixteenth notes that we'll see later, every time you have two or four notes together of the same value, you join them with a beam, the dark line that joins the notes, this will make the music much easier to read and understand.
