When you play the piano, you need two clefs, one for the high notes that usually are played with the right hand, and one for the low notes, you play those notes with the left hand. The high notes use the TREBLE CLEF, and the low notes use the BASS CLEF. So when you play the piano the two clefs are placed in two staffs, and both of them are join by THE GRAND STAFF, the curvy line at the left.
In the next example notice many of the things that you should know already, the bar lines, the double bar lines at the end, the whole notes, the quarter notes, the eighth notes, the staff, the grand staff, the treble clef, the bass clef, the staff, the time signature, and the dotted quarter notes.
