TIME SIGNATURE 3/4

Now let’s see the 3/4 time signature. Notice that the first measure has 3 notes because the time signature TOP NUMBER is 3. and each of the notes is a quarter note because the BOTTOM NUMBER is 4 (or 1/4).

Now after that you can fill the measures with any possible combination, like 1 half (2) + 1 quarter (1) = 3. Or 2 eighth notes (1) + 1 eight note and 1 eight rest (1) + 1 quarter note (1) = 3. Or 3 eighth notes (1 and a half) and 3 eight rests (1 and a half) 1.5 + 1.5 = 3. You always have to have 3 counts.

It doesn’t matter if you put sharps or flats, or any note you want, as long as you have 3 counts and each count is 1 quarter, you are fine.
