TIME SIGNATURE 2/4

The time signature 2/4 works exactly the same, each measure must have what? Yes! 2 counts. or 2 quarter notes. or any POSSIBLE COMBINATION. Let’s see this examples.

Notice that you have ties, and dotted quarter notes, it’s okay, use any combination you want, as long as each measure has 2 beats, or 2 counts and each count must be the same value as 1 quarter note.

So far you know 4/4, 3/4 and 2/4 but time signatures can be almost any number, in higher levels if you keep learning more you’ll see that time signatures can be 6/8 or 2/2 or 3/8 or even 5/16 or 7/32. I know it looks strange but that’s why music is so nice you have unlimited possibilities to create new music!
